Sample a wee dram of some of the world's best Single Malt Whiskies!
Made in Tasmania not Scotland!
I came across the Lark Distillery by accident while in Tassie putting together other incentive packages.
Lark Distillery is a gem and this is a bobby dazzler of a trip.
This package is based around the internationally recognised Lark Distillery in Hobart. Lark won an international award in 2008 against 200 mostly Scotish single malt whiskies.
If you like your whisky you will be very very impressed.
Day 1. After flying in to Hobart, day 1 starts with a short trip to the Lark Distillery where you will be introduced to traditional art of whisky making. Lunch is at the nearby Meadowbank Estate winerey. After lunch you will return to the distillery where you will take the whisky making art through to the final distillation. You will stay at the historic Lenna Hotel in Hobart.
Day 2. Starts with a visit to the famous Salamanca markets followed by a drive to the central highlands where you will see Lark's peat cutting operation followed by a BBQ lunch where trout and salmon will be smoked over a peat fire. In the afternoon there will be time for a short round of golf, a spot of fly fishing or just a relax in the pristine central highlands. After returning to Hobart you will be indulging in a "Whiskies of the World" Dinner before returning to the Lenna Hotel
Day 3. Breakfast is at the Lark restaurant at the wharves in Hobart followed by a tour of the Lark Bond Store where you will be able to taste whiskies of varying ages and get a better appreciation of how whiskies age. We will then travel to Franklin on the Huon River to see the Wooden Boat Centre and lunch at the Petty Sessions Cafe. On return to Hobart you will be issued with Certificates of Whisky Appreciation before returning to Hobart airport for the return flight home.
